Salary: £27-29k per annum (Depending on Experience)
Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire (office based)
Hours: 38.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday)

As the HR Advisor will work as part of the wider HR team (team of 4) to provide support to managers and employees on a range of areas including recruitment, induction, learning and development and performance management. With an excellent understanding of HR legislation and good practice the HR Advisor will also contribute to departmental innovation and wider developmental initiatives across all divisions.  
 
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deal with various day to day HR queries by phone, in person or via the HR inbox
  • Build and manage employee relationships in a confidential and professional manner
  • Manage the recruitment process through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) including reviewing and updating role profiles, advising managers on recruitment strategies, selecting candidates and organising the interview process
  • Assist in managing the Recruitment inbox
  • Deliver induction activities for new employees and monitor the probationary process providing advice and guidance to managers when needed
  • Use the HR information systems (PeopleHR) to access, input and compile data as requested by the Head of HR
  • Work with the department to identify training priorities, deliver training solutions, measure impact on practice and assess the cost effectiveness of this approach
  • Provide support for the apprenticeship and trainee programmes
  • Understand and build familiarity with all HR policies and work with the team on annual reviews and ensuring these are compliant with current legislation.
  • Support the Head of HR with investigations, including capability, grievance and disciplinary proceedings
  • Provide administrative support where required and ensure all agreed processes and procedures are followed with regards to electronic and paper filing and archiving
  • Contribute to the development of the HR content on the Company intranet
  • Contribute to the developmental priorities of the department as outlined in the HR Business Plan
  • Provide absence cover for the other HR Advisors and for the Payroll Officer
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of Assoc CIPD Level 3 and maintained membership with the CIPD
  • Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities able to translate across all levels of the business
  • Trustworthy and able to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Excellent IT skills with an interest in technology and HR related technology.
  • Proven work experience as an HR advisor, HR consultant or similar role in a comparably sized organisation
  • Good knowledge of employment legislation and HR good practice
  • Excellent grasp of literacy and numeracy
  • Well organised, able to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail with high levels of accuracy 
WORKING PATTERN

Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 17:30 and Friday 08:30 - 16:00

OTHER ESSENTIALS

This role will include travel to other sites across the South of England including, Somerset, Dorset, Sussex and London so the ability to drive, have a full clean UK driving license and access to a car is essential for this role
 
INTERVIEW PROCESS & DATES

First stage interviews will be held on the 8th & 9th of September with successful candidates invited for 2nd interviews the following week.
