DRP Client Services Limited is a family business established 1998.  The winter maintenance division know as De-ice has been providing bespoke gritting and snow clearance service contracts for the last 19 years and is a well-established and respected company in its field.  We are experts in our field and currently hold contracts within both the public and private sector including Aldi, Amazon, Co-Op and the NHS.   We have invested in the latest technology and weather reporting to ensure our clients experience the best customer experience possible.  De-ice has grown year on year and operates contracts nationwide and we are now looking to expand the team to help us increase our client base and achieve our ambitious growth plan.
The Role
Working from our offices in Maldon, the Business Development Executive will work within the commercial team actively selling winter maintenance contracts across the UK.   Your primary focus will be to develop successful business relationships with new prospects, lapsed clients and existing accounts through pro-active phone activity and occasional client visits where appropriate.   You will understand the tender process and will have experience in finding and submitting tender responses.
During the winter months, you will be required to oversee the daily running of your allocated accounts.  There is a requirement for you to be available to your clients throughout the winter season which may involve some overnight working in instances of extreme cold weather episodes or snow events.  The role is 99% office based with a focus on outbound phone calls, but there may be a requirement for you to attend client visits where appropriate from time to time.  You will be able to confidently represent the business at trade shows from time to time and this may involve overnight stays.
The Person
We are looking for an experienced, lively, pragmatic, enthusiastic team player with a willingness to muck in and do whatever is required to get the job done.  The ideal candidate will be a self-starting, outstanding verbal communicator with at least 3 years’ experience successfully selling in a B2B sales environment, well organised and able to work quickly, efficiently and to target.   You will be able to present and close business over the phone as well as having excellent written communication skills.  
The role is fairly technical and detailed and you will be expected to work quickly, to a highly accurate standard.  Ideally, you will understand the tender process and will have experience in finding and submitting tender responses.   You will need to display a can do attitude and be resilient and thick skinned with the ability to pick yourself up when you get knocked back.   You will be driven to succeed, ambitious and pragmatic with a proven track record in opening, developing and closing business opportunities or various sizes. 
The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service / account management skills and display a firm, but fair attitude to dealing with client issues, fully investigating and reporting on any issues.
Skills & attributes
Education – minimum  of 3 GCSE’s with grade A-C including English plus A levels
Educated to degree level
Excellent all round communication skills
Self-starter who will pro-actively seek out opportunities
Ability to work to and achieve call targets and other KPI’s
A team player with a willingness to support their colleagues when required
Previous sales experience in delivering to the FM market
Solid Business Development / Account Management background
Excellent work ethic and positive attitude
Naturally inquisitive nature and the ability to question and information gather and use the information to progress with the client
Excellent questioning and
Displays flexibility and a willingness to go above and beyond
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and be confident using current technology
Resilience and determination when selling into a challenging and budget restricted environment
Confident presenting in a face to face environment
Experience with tender identification and submissions
Full, clean driving licence
