We currently have a new exciting role for a Schools Property and Environment Manager in Reading. In this position, you will support the delivery of fully serviced, operationally compliant and supported physical learning environments (buildings, facilities and building –services). You will also champion, support, advise and implement building management planning, policy and best practice standards to ensure statutory compliance and provide a safe environment for users. In addition to this, you will work with Campus Managers and Property and Environment teams to deliver a customer focused, efficient, and statutorily compliant FM service delivery – leading on the cross-site operational management and FM support.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Planning and organising

  • Deliver FM service delivery to AL Schools, Colleges and UTCs, to establish and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements, including supervisions and support to staff deployed at these sites – ensuring that plans for statutory testing, repairs, servicing and maintenance are implemented.
  • Manage estates records and Property and Environment Policies and Procedures, specifications, CAD plans, guarantees and key property and estates records and prepare group reports when required.
  • Coordinate outsourced service contract providers (e.g. Cleaning, Catering, Security, Fire) to ensure value for money and quality of service provision.
  • Support the coordination of or directly line manage Site Standards and Maintenance Officers and other staff or services deployed at AL Schools, and UTCs

  • User satisfaction (e.g. faculties, students, teachers, public) with the campus environments and learning experience
  • Planning and delivery of college operational targets, Faculty and Group Service requirements.
  • Advising on and ensuring statutory and legislative compliance (Facilities Management)
  • Management, monitoring and delivery of Group service standards
  • Student behaviour and disciplinary process

Qualifications and Experience:

  • IT skills
  • Accurate and attentive to detail
  • Effective at forming relationships and productive partnerships
  • Credible with teams and possesses with gravitas needed for partnership building
  • Significant experience of delivering successful Facilities Management (including building services) in a complex customer focused environment.
  • Member of BIFM/CIBSE or equivalent professional body
  • A relevant and up to date Health & Safety qualification or proven relevant experience
